The Relationship Checkup helps build intimacy and connection between you and your partner. Vibrant, long-term relationships require regular attention and care to keep them healthy and happy. Using the Checkup, you’ll:
- identify your greatest strengths as a couple
- uncover areas of your relationship that you can strengthen even more
- identify areas of concern, so you can protect your relationship against those issues early on
The Relationship Checkup equips you with the information you need to develop and maintain a strong, healthy relationship for the long-term.
How it Works
The Relationship Checkup consists of three parts:
The Relationship Checkup is designed to be as basic or as comprehensive as you would like it to be. It consists of one mandatory online assessment, and two entirely optional interviews with me.
Online Assessment (Mandatory)
Once you sign up for the check-up, you and your partner will each receive a link to the online assessment, which you will complete separately (your answers are kept confidential from one another). After completing the assessment (which takes about an hour), I’ll receive your results and personally prepare a summary that outlines:
- a couple of your key strengths
- a couple of areas where your relationship may experience friction or challenges
- 2 to 4 immediately actionable recommendations for each challenge area to help improve them
In-Depth Interview (Optional)
After receiving your basic relationship summary, you decide if you’d like to take advantage of a 1 hour face-to-face meeting with me (either in my office, or over video chat) to conduct a more in-depth relationship interview. This is an opportunity for me to learn more about your relationship history and get more details directly from you. Once you complete this interview, I’ll write a more comprehensive Relationship Report designed to give you a fuller picture of your relationship as I see it based on both your online assessment and our interview. I usually complete your Relationship Report in about a week.
Final Debrief Interview (Optional)
Many couples choose to stop with the Basic Summary and Relationship Report, but some couples want to complete a final follow-up interview with me, where they have the opportunity to ask questions, debrief with me on the Relationship Report, and get clarification on any of the recommendations I’ve outlined. This can be very beneficial, but it’s certainly not required to get a great deal of value out of the process. Again, as with the initial face-to-face interview, the follow-up interview is entirely optional. You decide if you want to schedule it after you’ve already received your Relationship Report.
The best part about the checkup process is you’re never committed to more than the next step. When you sign-up you only pay for the initial assessment. If that ends up providing you with what you need, then you’re done. You don’t need to go any further. If, however, you complete the assessment, get your Basic Summary and want to go further, then you decide to schedule the interview, and you only pay for the interview once it’s conducted. The same applies with the final debrief interview as well.
