Recently engaged, or thinking of marriage?
If so, you’re entering one of the most exciting and challenging times in your life. Parts of marriage will seem easy and simple, but there will be other parts of integrating two separate lives into a single, living partnership that will stretch you and may even ask more of you than you think you can give.
What’s Premarital Counseling?
Premarital counseling is not about me telling the two of you whether you’re right for each other, or whether you should get married or not. Frankly, most couples wouldn’t listen if I did tell them not to get married! Instead, I approach the premarital process with four specific goals in mind:
- Help each of you take an honest look at yourselves and each other
- Identify the strengths you already have that will help your relationship succeed
- Make note of the challenges your relationship may present in the future
- Give you a set of tools to help you manage those challenges effectively from the day you both say “I do”
